Outdoor swimming

Near the camp is a river Orahovšica suitable for swimming and we can also arrange tours for swimmers on Skadar Lake and the Adriatic Sea.


There are a large number of surveys and studies that confirm the importance and benefits of swimming in nature brings people.


Scientists from the Czech Republic immersed witting subjects in outdor swimming for one hour, three times a week and monitored their physiology. They found significant increases in white blood cell counts and several other factors relating to the immune system.


– There is even evidence to support the theory that cold adaptation –which can be achieved through open-water swimming – may actually reduce the overall risk of a heart attack – Dr Mark Harper, the Outdoor Swimming Society’s expert.


– On the physiological level, hard swimming workouts release endorphins, natural feel-good compounds whose very name derives from “endogenous” and “morphine – according to sports psychologist Aimee C. Kimball, director of mental training at the Center for Sports Medicine at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
